We had never heard of this before. We decided to make a stop at the Lotus temple because it was geographically the closest to our hotel, which is a strong selling point given Delhi’s horrendous traffic. Upon entering the temple, you are told to take your shoes off and be quiet for the duration of your 15-30 minute stay. The Baha’i Faith teaches the essential worth of all religions and encourages equality among all people. People can visit the temple to observe any faith they wish. This open-mindedness ethos was very attractive to us, and we were surprised we had never heard of it before.
